Smotherman returns for Giants title defence
The Elite League champions Belfast Giants confirmed the return of Jordan Smotherman.
Smotherman, 33, signed with Iserlohn Roosters of the German group DEL, and scored the winner's goal in overtime in the final victory of the Challenge Cup against Guildford Flames in his first season.
NHL draft pick in 2005, he played in the NHL for the Atlanta Thrashers and also played 373 games in the AHL.
Giants coach Adam Keefe said: "Jordan is a player we have been following for a while and it was great to have him on the ground in 2018/20 to contribute the success of the Elite League and the Challenge Cup. "
"This is a great striker who will bring offense and work ethic to our 2019/20 team. I know our fans have loved hearing about Jordan's efforts to get to Belfast for its debut and I know they'll love watching it again in teal this season. "
Smotherman also represented Sweden, as well as played in Denmark and ECHL.
