Mark Louis back for fourth year at Cardiff Devils
The Cardiff Devils announced that Mark Louis had signed a new deal and would be back in red for the 2019/20 season, his fourth season with the club.
Louis, 32, won seven trophies during his tenure with the Devils, playing 189 games, with eight goals and 28 assists.
He said, "I'm delighted to be back with the Devils for the upcoming season. After my tough year with an injury in 2017/18, I spent a fun year on the ice and played at every game. I love Cardiff and I feel at home here – I love the fans and I love this club.
"It's an excellent organization to join. We have been lucky enough to gain a lot of time here and I am a competitive guy, so I would like to keep winning and this is the best place to go. it. "
Originally from Ponoka, Alberta, Louis spent four years with the Portland Pirates in the AHL and one year in the ECHL with Orlando Solar Bears before joining the Devils.
Coach Andrew Lord added, "I think Mark is a heart and soul player who plays with a real character and who gives it whenever he goes up on the ice cream.
"It's a great body, but it skates very well. That's what drew us to his home in the first place. When a guy is as big but skates well, it's hard to slow down. He can come out of the game and know when he can join the race, but has the speed to get back into position.
"He is a total work horse and a fantastic teammate. It's so important to have a guy like Lou in our lineup, because we know he will defend his teammates and let go of the gloves if necessary. "
