Jarrett agrees move to Belfast
Belfast Giants announced the signing of Cole Jarrett for the 2017/18 Elite League season .
The 34-year-old spent the last two years in the Asian League with Tohoku Free Blades.
Jarrett was drafted by Columbus Blue Jackets in 2001 and signed for the New York Islanders in 2003.
The Islanders assigned Jarrett to their AHL affiliate in Bridgeport early in the 2003/04 season and was called in and played in his first NHL game in 2006 against the Philadelphia Flyers.
Since then, the Canadian has frozen in Germany, Sweden, Finland and Austria.
Giants head coach Adam Keefe said, "In Cole, the Giants are gaining greater veteran leadership."
"He is an offensive defenseman who does not fear the physical side of the match.His CV speaks for itself.
"He is a good friend of former giant captain Jeremy Rebek and that says a lot about the type of person he is."
