GB undergo first training session in Slovakia
Great Britain completed its first training session at its Michalovce base before the start of the World Championship next weekend.
GB, arrived in Slovakia last night, has two meetings today before the match tomorrow against the organizers in Poprad (15h, English time).
The team will remain at its headquarters in Michalovce next week until its move to Kosice on Thursday before Saturday's opening match with Germany.
The head coach, Pete Russell, said, "It was a good session and I felt that everyone was looking refreshed after a few days off.
"We had a very intense training camp in Coventry and four tough games, so some rest was important for the boys.
"We are eager to measure ourselves against Slovakia tomorrow and this will give us a real indication of what to expect in the coming days.
"The base here in Michalovce is fantastic and we were very well looked after."
In addition to practices on the ice, British players will visit a local elementary school, train with local juniors and have an official engagement with the mayor of Michalovce and Andy Garth, UK ambassador to Slovakia .
GB will take part in his first title of world champion since 1994. He will play against Germany, Canada, Denmark, the United States, Finland, Slovakia and France from 11 to 20 May in group A in Kosice.
