FreeSports to show GB Men on free-to-air television
FreeSports, a UK-based television channel, will cover Britain's men's matches at the IIHF World Championship tournaments for the next five years.
This is the first time that a GB men's world championship has been broadcast in full on free TV.
GB was promoted last season with five wins to five in Belfast and will now compete in the second division 1 division of the IIHF World Class II Championship in April.
The six-team tournament will take place from 22nd to 28th April 2018 and will take place at Papp Laszlo Sportarena in Budapest.
GB faced host Hungary, as well as Italy, Kazakhstan, Poland and Slovenia, with two teams promoted to the highest level of the World Championship.
IHUK President Richard Grieveson said, "This is fantastic news that the GB games will be broadcast on free television.
"After the promotion last season in Belfast, it's truly exciting for GB and playing at the second level of the Ice Hockey World Championship brings us more visibility.
"The interest in Britain is greater than ever and it is brilliant that those who can not travel to Budapest can follow us to our home."
