Russell names GB team for Olympic Qualifiers
Great Britain's head coach Pete Russell has named his team for next month's Olympic qualifiers in Nottingham.
Great Britain, Estonia, Hungary and Romania will compete for a place in the final qualifications in August for the Beijing Olympic Games in 2022.
There are the first call-ups in GB for Travis Ehrhardt, Brendan Connolly and Scott Conway.
Russell said: "Choosing this group was difficult but in a good way, because there was serious competition for places.
"The guys we have added to the group have had very good seasons so far and we couldn't ignore their progress at this point.
"Seasonal tournaments are a little bit different from the World Championship and fit guys can help us hit the ice with a high level of confidence.
"It's a short preparation and only three games ahead, so we have to be prepared both mentally and physically from the start.
"Some very good players did not pass the 22 and I am sure that these guys will finish the season in force to try to force the return to the group of the World Championship.
"But right now, this is the challenge that awaits us all in Nottingham and it is not easy.
"We will respect, as always, our opponents and be supported by our own fans as a nation of origin. What a great opportunity and what an experience awaits us all. "
The tournament starts on Thursday February 6 with Hungary against Estonia, before GB faces Romania in the evening.
After Friday's rest day, Hungary will face Romania on Saturday afternoon, against Estonia against Great Britain in the evening.
The last day of the tournament is Sunday and Estonia will complete their matches by facing Romania, while Great Britain will face Hungary.
